Agnes is a self-motivated honest hardworking person, who always strives to achieve the highest standard possible, at any given task. She possesses excellent inter personal as well as problem-solving skills and she is a caring person who loves making a difference into the lives of young people, especially the girl child and those who are vulnerable.
Agnes’ greatest passion in life is teaching and learning new information. She experienced great success at school and at university due to unforgettable support and guidance of her teachers and the community’s financial support for her as a girl child. This is the foundation for her commitment to helping out students, whatever their abilities may be.
Agnes currently holds a masters degree in Gender Studies from Makerere University in addition to a Bachelors Degree in Arts with Education majoring in History and minoring in Economics from the same University. In addition, Agnes has attained gender analytical, research and advocacy skills through various trainings with Makerere University School of women and gender studies and the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), a human rights organization, Land and Equity Movement in Uganda, a Non-Governmental Organization and Ministry of Lands.
Agnes taught in St. Charles Lwanga College Koboko, Day Star secondary school and Ayume Memorial Girls secondary school for 4 years and was the Head of Department for Economics and the senior woman teacher in the schools mentioned, respectively. Agnes also worked as a researcher on customary land tenure practices and women’s land rights for 4 years. Agnes is passionate about youth empowerment and was a co-founder of Health Initiative Uganda, a community based organization. Agnes has experience of a wide range of knowledge and experience in teaching and gender analysis. In January 2016 Agnes joined the YTTC team as a PES and Senior Woman tutor. She is a God fearing married self-driven tutor and a gender analysist.
