YTTC receives warm welcome in Eastern Equatoria

Education authorities and student teachers in Eastern Equatoria and Magwi county in particular warmly welcomed the in-service teacher training programme organized for them by LWF in partnership with Yei Training College (YTTC). This training will lead to the award of primary teacher certificates after completion of two years. According to the student teachers, similar trainings were conducted by various Non-Governmental Organizations that ended without any certificates. The education authorities in the state and county also expressed the same concern and asked LWF and YTTC to continue until the current students complete the training and get certificates and recruit more for the same programme. They expressed optimism that this time with the level of competence and commitment of the YTTC and resident tutors, their teachers will get the necessary skills and experiences to fill the gaps in schools. The student teachers on their part are very excited and asked YTTC to provide them with uniforms or college T-shirts even if at a cost to identify with the college.
