Back to Yei
After approximately four years of being away from Yei, due to what happened in the country as a whole and Yei in particular in 2016, I am back to YTTC this year (2022).
Though it had been a period of negative experiencefor many especially in the refugee camp in Uganda, I must say it had been on the other hand a positive period for me. The college (YTTC), did not cease to “Strive for Excellence”. In a special arrangement with partners to support staff upgrading, I and Mr. Malona got the opportunity to travel to Germany for Masters from 2017-2019. Our load followed those of Wani Joel; the deputy Principal for Administration and Abigo Sam, who also finished their Masters from there under the same arrangement in 2016.
Now with the four of us who have upgraded through the college connection, in addition to those that upgraded on their own (with Masters and degrees), and the Principal soon completing his PhD from the UK, no doubt the college has already a very strong team of professionals with improved skills of delivery to produce the qualified teachers South Sudan desperately needs.
This team of Professionals is also capable of elevating YTTC to the next level (University), as the dream is to be a University soon or later. But I would still urge that the college and her partners should maintain the programme for those who are still longing to upgrade.
I must say, “Thank you” to the management of YTTC for that big opportunity given to us. I stand strong to say YTTC truly works for Excellence in all avenues and times. I am privileged to associate with her.
Thank you.
